Here’s the HOTTEST tip I received recently when I requested your most effective legal marketing techniques for my forthcoming book, The Quick Start Guide to Legal Marketing: A Step-by-Step Blueprint for Getting More Clients, published by the American Bar Association in 2019.
Board of Educators Panel Discussions
Big hugs and many thanks to Kirsten Schoeder Larsen for sharing her AWESOME success with panel discussions. Kirsten is a dynamite estate planning attorney in the Kansas City area. This is what she shared:
A year ago I was fortunate enough to be approached by an enterprising young woman who wanted to create a board of educators. We find that so many people are overwhelmed by the help their parents need, they don’t even know where to start. They also don’t want to be cornered and “sold” to. Our program is simple, we offer free panel discussions with lots of Q&A, and with no direct sales pitch.
People can come and listen, ask questions etc. The only marketing they leave with is a card with our pictures, a brief description of our businesses and contact information. I obviously have to take care to not give specific advice, accidentally form a client relationship etc., but it is a great opportunity for people to get to know me and whether we click or not, along with getting information on what is a trust, why a HIPAA release, why planning matters even with a spouse.
The other three panelists are an insurance agent specializing in life insurance and LTC, a nurse with a business that helps you investigate and find the right assisted living facility for you, and a senior move specialist who can help with downsizing.
How Can You Use Board of Educators Panel Discussions in Your Marketing Plan?
How can you use panel discussions in your marketing plan? Who would you include on your panel? What are the common fears and questions your clients have? What universities, libraries, or community centers are available for your use? How fast can you make this happen?
A panel discussion sets you up as THE expert in your field, provides instant credibility, brings together a team for collaboration, creates a tiered draw, is non-threatening so PNCs are more likely to attend, is incredibly cost-effective, and helps make you super approachable.
Do it!!! And, let me know how it goes.
You got this!
